(Top) Charlene's Grave (Bottom) Father Floyd Calais.
As belief in Charlene's intercessory prayers have increased and word of her heroic faith has spread, the tomb of the young girl has become a shrine, thousands of pigrims visit her tomb each year seeking help through Charlene's intercession, many leave petitions on her grave as well as flowers and personel items such as roseries and medals. It is estimated that as many as ten thousand people visit her grave every year seeking her intercession. it is believed Charlene's intercession saved the life of little Nicole Price a young girl from Morgan City USA, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, but some of Charlene's greatest miracles have not been physical but moral, according to Fr Brennen" a lot of people were cured and healed in grace. They got jobs, their marriages were saved, they had things put back together in their lives, those are the kind that don't show up on x-rays".

Charlene's Special Friend...
Father Floyd J Calais was pastor at St Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in Abbeville, it is Father Calais' name that which seemed to be mentioned most in connection with Charlene. He is not only a firm believer in the reality of Charlene's prayers and intercession's he is also the one probably most responsible for the spreading of devotion to her....Interestingly enough Father Calais never met Charlene, it was only after her death that she came into his life in such a strong way."I know that all of what i have to tell of how Charlene has personally affected my life can be written of as just coincidence,That's the way faith is there is never any concreate proof.Faith means believing in something we can't prove. I can't prove that Charlene did have a hand in the answers in all that many instances I prayed for intercession, but after a while, too many things happen too many times to just be able to call it coincidence."......I think the last word should go to Dr Voorhies who treated Charlene ...A Catholic By birth, Dr Danial Voorhies has practised medicine for over twenty years he says he believes in saints, on his desk which is suprisingly bare one item stands out, a picture of Charlene Richard. do you believe Charlene is a saint? he was asked, I got her picture on my desk he answered,"of all the former patients I've treated she's the only one whose picture you'll find here".
Update.... As of 2006 her cause for beatification is being considerd by the Vatican...You can find her prayer of beatification on our prayer page. May God bless you and may Charlene come into your life to intercede for you and lead you to a deeper understanding of Jesus and his Saints..She did mine!   Henry x
